A 9-storey block boasts a shopping arcade on the first level which is complemented by 8,000 square metres of office space on levels two to eight. Hotel Equatorial Shanghai is ideally located at the busy junction of Huashan Road and Yanan Road West which is in the heart of Shanghai's business district and only a short distance away from the main shopping area of Shanghai. The hotel is just 12 km from the Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), 50 km from Pudong International Airport (PVG), 7 km from the harbour and 5 km from the railway station. It is also within a ten-minute drive of the Shanghai International Exhibition Centre and Shanghai Mart while only a short walking distance from the Shanghai Exhibition Centre.

The Equatorial comprises 509 luxury rooms and Suites, each with modern in-house amenities including IDD, colour TV, in-house movies, mini-bar, individually controlled air-conditioning and more. Equator Club rooms can enjoy express check-out, private lounge, board room, buffet breakfast and afternoon tea.

All rooms are available with either king, queen or twin sized beds with city and garden views. Suites are equipped with sofa beds and a living area, Executive Suites have kitchen facilities.
